Jim Armstrong has been a North Shore resident for most of his life. He was born in Chicopee, MA, and later moved to Danvers with his family in 1961. He then lived in Salem for over 30 years, and today, resides in Beverly, MA.
After earning his degree in Conservation Technology, he began his career in the marine electronics industry in Salem. In 1978, he opened Armstrong Animals Pet Center. Jim successfully operated the business for 19 years, and during that time, he gained experience in customer service, marketing, and business operations.
In 2000, Jim earned his real estate license, and quickly discovered a strong passion for the industry. By 2002, he was one of the top three Realtors® in Salem. As a result, he was promoted to manage the Salem office of Vernon A. Martin, Inc. Realtors.
Jim’s grandmother, Lilienne Field, was a respected Salem Realtor® from the 1940s through 1978. Building on her legacy, Jim founded Armstrong Field Real Estate. Through his company, he focused on strong customer service and long-term client relationships. In addition, he continued to build a reputation for reliability and results. In 2024, Armstrong Field Real Estate joined Aluxety, expanding its reach while continuing its long-standing commitment to exceptional client service.
Jim’s success comes from his commitment to service. In addition, he brings strong marketing, negotiation, and mediation skills. He works with buyers and sellers across Essex, Suffolk, and Middlesex counties. He specializes in luxury homes, estates, historic homes, waterfront properties, subdivisions, new construction, and condominium development. Jim also assists with business sales, and in those cases, he creates tailored marketing strategies for each client.
As part of the Armstrong Field Team, Jim works with a dedicated group of professionals. Together, they provide support to clients seven days a week. In addition, Jim is a licensed real estate instructor. Because of this, he enjoys mentoring new agents and helping them build successful careers in Massachusetts real estate.

Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation; ABR designees are REALTORS® who focus on working directly with buyer-clients at every stage of the home-buying process.
Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) designation; SRES® designees are REALTORS® who have the necessary knowledge and expertise to counsel clients age 50+ through major financial and lifestyle transitions in relocating, refinancing, or selling the family home.
GREEN designation; designed for agents looking to learn about issues of energy efficiency and sustainability in real estate.
