Jim Armstrong has been a proud resident of the North Shore for most of his life. Born in Chicopee, MA, Jim moved with his family to Danvers in 1961. After living in Salem for over 30 years, he now resides in Beverly, MA. With a degree in Conservation Technology, Jim first worked in the marine electronics industry in Salem before venturing into entrepreneurship by opening Armstrong Animals Pet Center in 1978. For 19 years, he successfully operated the business, gaining extensive experience in customer service, marketing, and business operations.
In 2000, Jim earned his real estate license and quickly discovered his passion for the industry. By 2002, he became one of the top 3 Realtors® in Salem and was soon promoted to manage the Salem office of Vernon A. Martin, Inc. Realtors. Building on the legacy of his grandmother, Lilienne Field—one of Salem’s most esteemed Realtors® from the 1940s through 1978—Jim founded Armstrong Field Real Estate, where he focused on delivering exceptional customer service and fostering long-lasting client relationships.
Jim’s success in real estate stems not only from his commitment to service but also from his refined marketing, negotiation, and mediation skills. He works with both buyers and sellers across Essex, Suffolk, and Middlesex counties, specializing in luxury homes, estates, historic homes, waterfront properties, subdivisions, new construction, and condominium development. He also extends his expertise to business sales, offering tailored marketing strategies for a wide range of clients.
As part of the Armstrong Field Team, Jim collaborates with a dedicated group of professionals to ensure that clients receive comprehensive service and support 7 days a week. A licensed real estate instructor, Jim is passionate about mentoring aspiring agents and helping them embark on successful careers in Massachusetts real estate.
Current Designations and Certifications include:
Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation; ABR designees are REALTORS® who focus on working directly with buyer-clients at every stage of the home-buying process.
Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) designation; SRES® designees are REALTORS® who have the necessary knowledge and expertise to counsel clients age 50+ through major financial and lifestyle transitions in relocating, refinancing, or selling the family home.
GREEN designation; designed for agents looking to learn about issues of energy efficiency and sustainability in real estate.
