Jim Brown has worked as a dedicated REALTOR® since 2016. He brings more than 10 years of sales and service experience to his clients. Prior to becoming a Realtor®, Jim was employed as a Technical Marketing Manager responsible for the marketing and sale of capital equipment used in multiple industries throughout the world. In this capacity, Jim traveled throughout Asia, Europe, and across the United States. This experience has given him a unique business perspective in establishing trust and exhibiting a high level of customer service with the goal of achieving desired results through creative solutions, honest negotiations, and practicing the highest level of ethics.
Jim grew up and raised his kids in Manchester-by-the-Sea and currently resides in Essex, Massachusetts. Having lived on Cape Ann his entire life, he feels a strong obligation to give back to the local community. In addition to being a long-time member of The Manchester Club and an active Freemason serving the Manchester Lodge, he is an active participant of Manchester’s Downtown Improvement Committee and has also served as a past member of the Manchester Zoning Board of Appeals and Manchester’s 375th Anniversary Committee. He currently serves on several boards and committees, including the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, the Cape Ann Community Foundation, and the North Shore Realtors Government Affairs Committee. He also served as Board President of the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce in 2025 and is currently the Chairman of the Board. In 2022 Jim earned the Manchester-by-the-Sea Small Business Person of the Year award from the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce. This award is presented to honor the achievements of the region’s small business entrepreneurs and their employees and to thank them for their contributions to the economic vitality and community life of the greater Cape Ann region.
Jim attended Manchester High School and earned an Electronic Engineering Degree at Wentworth College and a master’s degree in business from Bentley University. Outside of real estate, he spends time with his family. In his free time, he enjoys working outside, maintaining and riding his motorcycle, and walking around Cape Ann’s beautiful woods.

Jim represented us for our purchase of a condominium in the Village at Magnolia Shores. His advice was essential in our decision of which unit to purchase. As construction proceeded Jim was on the site giving us pictures and updates of progress. This was most helpful since we were living quite a distance from Magnolia and could not easily visit the site often. When we did visit, Jim was there to help with decisions at the interim walk-throughs --electrical, pre-closing, etc. He was also very helpful in handling closing details.
